Here is our advice regarding booking an order to move your car with multiple auto transport companies: Don’t do it. Everyone in this industry, and we mean EVERYONE uses a single online dispatch board called Central Dispatch. All brokers post their orders here and all car carriers look for orders here. When there are two or more listings for the same car on Central Dispatch it is blatantly obvious to all car carriers and causes one of two problems: it either scares carriers away or it drives your price up. The reason that it scares car carriers away is because there is only one car to move and carriers know that they might end up being one of a number of carriers given the order, only to find out when they attempt to pick it up that another car carrier has already done so. Too many carriers have been burned in this manner, so when they see this situation they will look right past it and ignore your vehicle altogether. Those car carriers that don’t ignore it will instead call each of the brokers with the question, “How much can you get this customer to pay?” Thereby starting a bidding war where you will get calls from each broker asking you for more money for “an interested carrier” and the one who gets you to agree to the most will win, but in the end you will end up paying much, much more than you needed to. We know it SEEMS like a good idea, hire multiple companies and the first one to pick up wins, but this situation usually ends with only one loser, and unfortunately it almost always ends up being you.
